JANICE INGRAM
M.ED, LPC-S
Spiritual Director
Janice Ingram taught preschool and elementary students for years before she realized that her concern for a child’s home life overshadowed her interest in lesson plans.
While teaching children with advantages and disadvantages, Janice learned that play was the best avenue for connecting with any child. During her studies in play therapy, Janice became deeply interested in helping adults, too. She observed that inside every wounded adult is a wounded child.
Janice has been the women's minister at The Branch church, serving on the Spiritual Formation team, since June of 2005. She also holds a Master's degree in Counseling Education from Texas Tech University, as well as doctoral hours in play therapy from the University of North Texas.
Janice earned her Certificate of Spiritual Directors in June 2014, which required extensive reading, contemplative practices, and participation in a community of spiritual directors. Contemplative practices of prayer, meditation, silence, and solitude emphasize the Bible as the inspired Word of God and source of wisdom.
Janice has seven years experience in the elementary classroom, six years in school counseling, nine years in the foster child network, and five years in early childhood education (with hours from the College of Human Growth and Development of Tennessee Tech). Janice also has a certificate in early childhood education from Trevecca Nazarene University
