Marissa Bell is a Licensed Professional Counselor committed to helping all people as they work on life’s journey. She focuses her practice on helping clients learn to love themselves and grow personally through all of life's adventures. Marissa has a heart for all people and has experience in working with school aged children, college students, adults, and within a hospital setting. Marissa provides children with emotional support and self-regulating tools to use throughout life. Marissa believes that with proper support and encouragement many can overcome any obstacles in life. Marissa’s desire is to help others learn to love themselves completely, and firmly believes that education is very important in understanding mental health.
Marissa was born and raised in a rural area near Lubbock, Texas, where her family were farmers, and always believed in education. Marissa worked at Texas Tech University for 10 years in the Division of Institutional Diversity Mentor Program prior to moving to the DFW area in 2014 with her husband and family. Marissa attended Texas Tech University where she received her Bachelor of Science in Community, Family and Addiction Services. Marissa earned her Master of Arts in Professional Counseling from Dallas Baptist University. Marissa has worked in education for a majority of her career, but also has worked at a hospital as an In-patient therapist and as an Intensive Out-patient therapist. Marissa has a huge heart for people.
Marissa has been married since 2008 and has been blessed with two amazing children. Marissa’s husband is also an educator and works in sports. Their oldest child is currently attending Texas Tech University, majoring in Human Development and Family Studies. Their youngest child is in 8th grade. Marissa’s greatest accomplishment is being the first in her family to graduate with a degree in higher education. Her favorite saying is: “Focus on the Good” – Unknown
